This series invites participants into the less familiar Christmas stories in the Gospels, with this lesson focusing on the Gospel of Matthew. Most young people will be familiar with the Luke Christmas story – shepherds, manger, angels – but they may be surprised to learn that the other Gospels don’t include the same details.
This lesson – packed with games, interactive activities, scripture exploration, and theological reflection – invites participants into considering the genealogy of Jesus as told in the Gospel of Matthew and how it invites us to consider not just Jesus’s divinity, but his humanity.
