Description
About our Soul Care lessons: One of the most transformative ways we can engage people in spiritual disciplines is to give them the chance to actively practice them alongside a guide. Every lesson in our Soul Care series introduces a spiritual discipline and walks participants through a guided practice of the discipline! This type of experiential learning is empowering of personal faith development and helps the classroom become a sacred space for the pursuit of discipleship.
This lesson is part of a series on ancient spiritual practices which are native to the Jewish faith tradition and still practiced in that faith community to this day. Havruta is an ancient Jewish spiritual tradition, and a way in which Paul, the Gospel writers, and even Jesus learned to interpret the Hebrew Bible. Teenagers will find its collaborative, fellowship-oriented style empowering and enlightening. This lesson is one of several in a series, and can also be used as a stand alone lesson.
